This is the syllabus I use when teaching an introductory college class in Motion Graphics and After Effects.

Syllabus: Introduction to After Effects and Motion Graphics

Prerequisites:

Student must have an above average understanding of the Macintosh or Windows operating system.
Students should have a basic understanding of Adobe Photoshop and/or Adobe Illustrator.

Course Description:

This is a studio based motion graphics course with an emphasis on learning the features and functions of After Effects.
You will work on 3 different projects as well as various excercises to further your knowledge of the After Effects program.

Required Materials:

Notebook, Pen, Pencil, Headphones
After Effects Apprentice by Trish & Chris Meyers
Additional supplies might need to be purchased to complete projects.

Course Objectives:

1. Understand the After Effects Interface.
2. Use various After Effects Tools
3. Understand what it takes to build a basic animation.

Evaluations and Grade distribution will be determined according to the following point system.
